For VE 80, the children of Huntley C of E Primary School created something special - a series of heartfelt letters addressed to the veterans of the Second World War. Each letter begins with the simple but powerful words, “Dear Veteran”.

These letters are more than just words on a page - they’re a personal thank you from a new generation to those who sacrificed so much for our freedom. The pupils took time to reflect on the courage, resilience, and spirit of those who served, crafting messages filled with gratitude and admiration.

The letters were placed in the Village Hall for the VE 80 period, now we are sharing with you - a collection of thoughtful, sincere tributes to the unknown soldiers who shaped our world.
